Culture and people – How to make new connections quickly

To learn German quickly and well, you should use it as often as possible and absorb as much as you can through listening, reading and speaking. Make German part of your everyday life, for example through films, books and music. You can regularly refresh your vocabulary with magazines and newspapers.

SUKI project of the DB foundations

The Social and Cultural Integration or "SUKI" project provides support on a social and cultural level with the onboarding process for DB AG employees who have a refugee background or are of foreign descent. The project team helps them overcome social and cultural barriers and promotes cohesion and integration within DB.

In addition, SUKI offers the "Lotsenprogramm" – a programme in which DB employees support those newly arriving in Germany and help them with everyday problems. You can talk to the programme members both online and in person.

More information about the project and the support it offers is available here.

DB Cultures

On the Group-wide platform DB Cultures, you can share information on intercultural topics with an international network. For example, you can take part in Language Lunches, register for workshops or attend country-related and themed events. Once you have access to the DB intranet, you can find out more on the DB Planet page of DB Cultures.

Culture and values

DB stands for strong teamwork and an open culture. We give a lot of thought to how we do things and our stance on diversity and ethics. To find out more about DB's values, take a look at the DB Planet page on DB's values and culture.
